SISTERHOOD RETREAT 2026 💌🌞🫧🎨✨🛌👯‍♀️

This weekend we got out of Lubbock for our second annual Sisterhood Retreat weekend! So thankful to have had the opportunity to spend time bonding with our sisters in a beautiful place. It was a weekend well-spent full of fun, competition, creativity, friendship, and community.

Huge shoutout and thank you to @mikayla.munson, our amazing social chair for all of her hard work planning and overseeing this weekend!! Couldn’t have made it happen without her and additional help from our secretary, @emily._engerran, and president, @keeleyg1 👸

Yesterday morning, we pinned our new members for this spring, officially welcoming them to High Riders. We’re so excited to add 4 new amazing women to our sisterhood!

High Riders began as a simple, seemingly unattainable idea, representing the desire for college women to serve the students and athletes at Texas Tech. In the fall of 1975, Nancy Neill (Hughes) recognized the lack of a women’s support organization for female athletes and, learning from past failed attempts, worked with Lyn Morris (Travis) and Kathy Pate (Scott) to build a strong foundation for their aspiring group. With shared faith, the guidance of God, devoted dedication, and support from faculty sponsors, their efforts succeeded.

On February 2, 1976, Texas Tech University accepted High Riders as an official campus organization.

Today, let’s celebrate fifty years of trailblazing, women’s athletics, and our sisterhood.

Congratulations on a record-breaking season, @texastechsb!

We’ve loved getting the opportunity to support these amazing ladies throughout this historic year. Our organization has been supporting the softball team for decades, and we are so proud to have witnessed this year’s team reach new heights. Throughout our regular season at home, to our first time hosting a regional, to winning a Super Regional, to making it to the World Series and competing for a national championship, we’ve enjoyed every second. It was also so great to have some of our members travel to Oklahoma City to support our team in their final games!

Every game we attended as High Riders was a new chance to bring us closer as sisters, represent Texas Tech, and promote the sport of softball. We are so excited for the future of our softball program here at Texas Tech and the growth of this sport in general. We can’t wait to continue supporting TTU Softball for many years to come. See y’all next season! 👆❤️🖤
